Fernando López Castillo

Nacido en 1953 (Vitoria-Gasteiz). Larga experiencia como productor audiovisual, realizador y guionista. Director adjunto de los cursos Master organizados por la Universidad del País Vasco en el Centro de Imagen y Nuevas Tecnologías (C.I.N.T). Profesor del Master para adultos “Nuevas Tecnologías orientadas a la Educación”. Miembro del Comité de Dirección de EEOS (Asociación de Usuarios Españoles de Satélites para la Educación). Director del CINT de 1989 a 1997. Ha sido jurado en numerosos festivales de cine y comités de becas para la creatividad audiovisual.

Born in 1953, in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Many years of experience as audiovisual producer, director and scriptwriter. Assistant director of the master’s degree courses organized by the University of the Basque Country at the Image and New Technologies Center (C.I.N.T). Professor of a Master’s course for adults “New Technologies in Education”. Member of the Steering Committee of the Association of Spanish Users of Satellites for Education. Director of CINT from 1989 to 1997. Member of the jury at numerous film festivals and committees awarding scholarships for audiovisual creativity.

Margarita Maguregui Fernández

Obtuvo un Master of Arts en Teoría y Análisis Cinematográficos de la Universidad de Pittsburg, Pensilvania (EE.UU.) en 1986. Antes se había licenciado en Filología Española por la Universidad de Barcelona. También ha estudiado decoración y música. Coordinó el proyecto El Cine y Giséle Freund en 2002. Desde 1999 es componente de la Junta Directiva de la Plataforma de Festivales de Cine y Vídeo de Barcelona. Desde 1994 es miembro del Comité Directivo y responsable de la Supervisión y Coordinación de las Secciones y Actividades Paralelas, Jurados, Patrocinadores y Relaciones Institucionales del Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Barcelona, L’Alternativa. Muchas otras instituciones culturales y cinematográficas se han beneficiado de su participación a lo largo de los años.

In 1986 she received a Master of Arts in Film Theory and Analysis at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before that she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Philology at the University of Barcelona. She has also studied decoration and music. She was the coordinator of the project El Cine y Giséle Freund in 2002. Since 1999 she has been on the executive board of the Platform for Film and Video Festivals of Barcelona. She is also a member, since 1994, of the steering committee of L’Alternativa, the International Independent Film Festival of Barcelona. Her responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the sections, parallel activities, juries, sponsors and institutional relations. Many other cultural and cinema-related institutions have also benefited from her participation over the years.

Antonio Parra Cuenca

Licenciado en Ciencias de la Información, rama Periodismo, por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ha trabajado en numerosas publicaciones y también como guionista y presentador de radio, pero la mayor parte de su carrera profesional se ha desarrollado en televisión. Primero como redactor y guionista del programa de cine "Producción Española" de la segunda cadena de TVE y después como redactor del programa divulgativo "Elegir una profesión", de la misma cadena. A finales de 1988 se traslada a los Servicios Informativos de TVE, donde empieza a trabajar en el primer informativo que se puso en marcha en la segunda cadena de TVE, "Noticias 2”. Desde entonces, y salvo un período breve de tiempo por el que pasó por Informe Semanal y el Área de Cultura de los telediarios de la Primera, ha estado presente en todos los informativos de La 2. Ha sido el responsable de las noticias de cultura de "La 2 Noticias", uno de los informativos más premiados de la televisión española, hasta su incorporación, como subdirector, a "Miradas 2", el nuevo informativo cultural que se estrena esta temporada, también en La 2.

He has a degree in Information Sciences (the area of journalism), from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has worked in the written press and in radio, but most of his career has been in television. First as a writer for the film program Producción Española of Channel 2 of TVE, the Spanish Public Broadcasting Network, and then as a writer for Elegir una profesión, of the same channel. At the end of 1988 he started to work for the News Services of TVE, participating in the start-up of the award-winning Noticias 2. Since then, except for a brief period in which he was associated with Informe Semanal and the culture section of Channel 1 of TVE, he has been involved in all the news programs of Channel 2. He was the head of cultural news until he became the assistant director of Miradas 2, the new cultural news program premiering this season on Channel 2.

Elvire Bastendorff

Elvire Bastendorff nace en enero de 1972. Pasa su infancia en la región parisina. De pequeña dibuja mucho. Muy pronto se interesa por el arte e inicia sus estudios de artes aplicadas en la Escuela Estienne. A los 19 años, es grafista en París. Empieza a preparar una tesis que no concluirá. Deja París para ir a la isla de la Reunión, donde trabaja como profesora y coordinadora en la Escuela Superior de Arte. Pero, sobre todo, descubre el jardín, las flores, los ciclones, el volcán, las sensaciones de aislamiento y de soledad. Las Nuevas Sirenas aparecen entonces en el jardín. Las fotografía, les hace dibujar y escribir. En 2002, cambia la Reunión por una residencia en Luxemburgo. Desde entonces, entre París y Luxemburgo, realiza pequeños viajes y las nuevas Nuevas Sirenas conocen las músicas de Franck Smith, que recorren su camino, entre la lluvia, el mar lejano, los paisajes de invierno, la tierra... Elvire Bastendorff sigue dibujando y fotografiando y actualmente concentra su energía en el vídeo. Ahora hay muchos colores, sonidos y períodos en movimiento.

Elvire Bastendorff was born in 1972. She grew up in the Paris area. As a little girl, she drew a lot. Soon she became interested in art and began studying applied arts at the Estienne School. At the age of 19 she worked as a graphic artist in Paris. She starts to prepare a doctoral thesis that will go unfinished. She leaves Paris for Reunion Island, where she works as a professor and coordinator at the School of Art. But most of all she discovers gardens, flowers, cyclones, volcanoes, the feelings of isolation and solitude. The New Sirens then appear in the garden. She photographs them, she makes them draw and write. In 2002 she exchanges Reunion Island for an artist’s residency in Luxembourg. Since that time, living between Paris and Luxembourg, she makes little trips and the new New Sirens discover the music of Franck Smith, which follows a path between the rain, the distant sea, winter landscapes, the earth.... Elvire Bastendorff continues drawing and taking pictures and she currently devotes a lot of energy to video art. Now there are many colors, sounds and periods in movement.

Jorge Magaña Molina

Nació en la Ciudad de México el 12 de Febrero de 1976. Estudió la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación (Periodismo), en la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (95-98). Titulado con Mención Honorífica por su examen y Tesis profesional: El Cortometraje Mexicano en la Actualidad (Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía 1990-1997). Colaborador Editorial y Editor de varias secciones –especialmente espectáculos, cultura y cine- en diversas revistas. Coordinador de Festivales Internacionales, adscrita a la Subdirección de Promoción y eventos Internacionales, perteneciente a la Dirección de Promoción Cultural Cinematográfica del IMCINE. Desde Julio 2001, curador de diversas muestras cinematográficas de largometraje y cortometraje en diversos países. Invitado especial y Jurado Internacional de largometraje y cortometraje en diversos festivales. Coordinador editorial, Investigador y Corrector de estilo del Catálogo Anual Cinema México, editado por el Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía.

Born in Mexico City on February 12, 1976. He obtained a B.A. in Communications (Journalism) from the Political and Social Science Department of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (95-98). He received an Honorable Mention for his professional exam and thesis: The Mexican Short Film Today (Mexican Film Institute 1990-1997). He has been the Coordinator of International Festivals, associated with the Department of Promotion of Film Culture of the Mexican Film Institute, since July 2001. He has organized several series of features and short films on various subjects in different countries and has been a special guest and member of the jury at many festivals. He also serves as editorial coordinator, researcher and proofreader for the annual Cinema México catalogue, published by the Mexican Film Institute.

Txema Muñoz López

Ceánuri (Vizcaya), 1961. Licenciado en Psicología por la UPV, jamás he llegado a ejercer dicha profesión. Mis preferencias siempre han estado dirigidas más al mundo de la cultura en general, al del audiovisual en particular y al del cine en concreto. En 1990 comienzo mi andadura profesional en la Unidad de Cine del Patronato Municipal de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de San Sebastián, participando en la fundación y primeros pasos de la revista Nosferatu y de los ciclos cinematográficos que llevan el mismo nombre. He formado parte de los donostiarras Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror y del Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos, además de alguna colaboración con el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián. Desde el año 2002 soy el responsable de la gestión del programa KIMUAK de difusión y distribución del corto vasco, un proyecto del Departamento de Cultura del Gobierno Vasco que este año cumple 8 ediciones y que actualmente gestiono desde la Filmoteca Vasca.

Ceánuri (Vizcaya), 1961. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country but have never practiced this profession. My preferences have always been in the world of culture in general, in audiovisuals more specifically, in film, to be exact. In 1990 I began my professional career in the Film Unit of the Department of Culture of the City Council of San Sebastian, participating in the founding and first steps of the magazine Nosferatu and of film series with the same name. I have been involved in the San Sebastian events International Fantasy and Horror Film Week and the Film and Human Rights Festival. Since 2002 I have been responsible for managing the KIMUAK program for the dissemination and distribution of Basque shorts. This is a project of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government and has been in existence for eight years. I currently manage the project from the Basque Film Library.

Cristina Amate Bueno

Nacida en 1960. Licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad de Granada, 1982. Actualmente es Jefa de Departamento de Propiedad Industrial en la Agencia de Innovación y Desarrollo de Andalucía. Entre 2002-2005 era Directora de Servicio de la Empresa Publica de FAGIA, Fomento, Asistencia y Gestión Integral de Andalucía. Subdirectora General del Instituto Andaluz de Mujer y miembro del Consejo de redacción de la revista Meridiam. Asesora Jurídica de G.P. del Parlamento de Andalucía entre 1984-2000.

Born in 1960, she has a degree in Law from the University of Granada (1982). She is currently head of the Industrial Property Department of the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency. Between 2002-2005 she was the director of public company services at FAGIA, the Andalusian Public Works, Assistance and Integrated Management company. Assistant general director of the Andalusian Women’s Institute and member of the editing board of the journal Meridiam. Legal Advisor to the G.P. of the Andalusian Parliament between 1984 and 2000.

Juan Antonio Barrero

Nació en 1980. Estudió Comunicación Audiovisual en la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla. En 2000 recibe una beca para especializarse en dirección teatral en el European Drama Major de la Universidad de Sussex (R.U.). También estudia dirección en la Brighton Film School. Su primer trabajo cinematográfico es “1939” (2002), una adaptación del Diálogo de los Muertos de Francisco Ayala, que concursa en la sección oficial de numerosos festivales y es ganador de varios premios internacionales. Obtiene el título de Màster en Documental de Creació por la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2003-2005), donde trabaja como asistente de dirección en la película “Diario Argentino” de Guadalupe Pérez (Messidor Films -en fase de postproducción-), dirige una de las piezas del documental colectivo “Franco y yo” (Estudi Playtime-TV3) y desarrolla un proyecto de largometraje que se encuentra en fase de preproducción. Es profesor de guión en el curso regular de la Escuela de Cine y TV de San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba).

In 2000 he earned a scholarship to specialize in theater direction at the European Drama Major program of the University of Sussex. He also studied directing at the Brighton Film School. His first film work is “1939” (2002), an adaptation of Diálogo de los Muertos by Francisco Ayala, which competes in several festivals and wins various international awards. He received a degree in Documental de Creació por la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2003-2005), where he works as assistant director of the film Diario Argentino by Guadalupe Pérez, currently in postproduction (Messidor Films), directs one of the group documentary pieces “Franco and I” (Estudi Playtime-TV3) and works on a feature project currently in the preproduction phase. He teaches scriptwriting at the Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba).
